Our Summer Trip

We finally made the trip to AZ. I was sitting around thinking and realized that school starts on August 12th. That is only two weeks away. It seems like the summer has flown by. We never really went anywhere with the kids. So we decided that this was the time to go. Lucky for us the 24th is a day off for Bri. He ended up taking Friday off and that way we could go for 5 days. It was so worth the drive. The kids had so much fun together. Me and Shannon and Amanda went to the spa on the 24th for Amanda's 15th B-day. It was so so so fun. Brian spent the morning with the kids and then took Jayme and Becca (two 8 year olds) shopping. Then we all met up for lunch at the Cheese Cake Factory. The day was good and fun. The rest of the week we played in the pool, and our new favorite game,Ticket to Ride. On Saturday it was my b-day. Shannon made me tons of cinnamon rolls and we went to eat at Caraba's (the best place ever). Then we went to Jestrz Improv Club. They were hilarious. We did also go to a water park.( some people may still be chaffed from that) All in all it was a fun time and the kids now have something to write about when the teacher asks them what they did over summer break.

Fun Memories

A Game called Memory Lane. I saw this on Jessica's blog and I thought it sounded like fun but only if people really left a memory in the comments so please do!

Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.

Even if you don't want to play please leave a comment and you could leave it anonymous if you want!

"Man I wish it was Swinter!"

Well as you know we have been working on the yard this year. It truly sucks. It will be worth it in the end. That's what I keep telling myself anyway. We did get the middle level taken out and the fake grass in. It does look pretty sweet. If I could have recorded the day we had to haul the fake grass to the back yard, it would be the funniest video ever. Imagine Brian ( after hours of working with me and the kids) he was so tiered and moody and ready to be done. We get ready to move the grass and I can't pick it up. I could kinda wrap my arms around it and move a little but holy cow it was so so heavy and well lets just say " Ugh Charity, are you serious?" was said tons and a few other words that would look like this #@%$@% *&^*&$ . Anyway we figured out a plan ( really I figured it out). We put the lawnmower under my end and me and Drake and Jayme pushed that while Brian carried the other end. How the heck he did that I don't know. Yes I do It was his Muscles. Anyway we did it and it would be classic to see footage of it. now we are on the deck phase and it goes about as well. Me and the kids and Brian tried to do it yesterday and we got one board done in three hours! I am not kidding THREE HOURS = ONE BOARD. It was &%@^%$^%$. but during those three hours we grew closer as a family ;) Not really but what ever. We did have a fun conversation about SWINTER though. While holding the board in the 102 degree sun Jayme tells us "Man I wish it was Swinter. Then I wouldn't be so hot. Ya know when it is winter in the summer?"She said. We all had a laugh and about five minutes later Brian finally called it and we went in. All in all it will be worth it in the end. Hopefully!
